Wedge Fitting

Wedges demand more feel and control than any other club in the bag, and feel starts at the grip. We fit texture and taper here as carefully as bounce and grind, because a grip that's even slightly wrong shows up first on delicate shots around the green.

Feel Starts at the Grip

Texture, Taper, and Control

Many golfers who struggle with distance control on partial wedge shots are fighting a grip that's too slick or too thick for the finesse the shot requires, not a swing-length problem. We test taper profile and texture on actual chip, pitch, and bunker samples, not just full swings, since grip feel changes noticeably at reduced speed.

Bounce and sole grind get selected against your typical turf and attack angle, and loft gapping is checked across your full wedge set so distance windows don't overlap or leave gaps.

What We Adjust for a Wedge Set

Grip Texture & Taper

A slightly textured, tapered build for finesse control, tested on chip and pitch shots where feel matters more than raw grip security.

Bounce Angle

Higher bounce resists digging in soft turf or sand; lower bounce suits firm turf and players who prefer to hit down sharply on the ball.

Sole Grind

Grind shapes how the sole interacts with the ground at address and through impact — heel, toe, and full grinds each suit different attack angles and turf conditions.

Loft Gapping

Even loft spacing across your wedge set prevents distance overlap and keeps every yardage window covered.

Shaft Weight

Slightly heavier wedge shafts than your irons can improve tempo control on shorter swings for many golfers.

Face Texture

Groove sharpness and face milling affect spin generation, particularly from firm or dry turf conditions.

Fine-Tune Your Short Game

Wedge fittings run 45–60 minutes and include full-swing and partial-shot testing.
